LAST DAY TO ORDER A YEARBOOK IS TOMORROW

We have extended the yearbook order deadline to tomorrow, May 9 by the end of day. We will be ordering on Friday and will not order any extras. Please send cash or a check made out to SCCS to the school office for $25 for each yearbook you are ordering. Please do NOT pay through blackbaud after tomorrow  (we don’t have access to see who paid and we might miss your order).

MAY CROWNING

May Crowning is this Friday, May 10 at 9:30 AM. Please send in flowers with your children on Friday morning to take to the school kitchen to be arranged for placement around the Virgin Mary.

VOLUNTEERING AT ST. PAULS

We have lots of parents volunteering to chaperone various end of the year field trips and activities. All volunteers must complete Diocesan safe environment trainings and a background check PRIOR to volunteering. It can take up to two weeks to get a background check back, so please complete these trainings ASAP. For information on volunteering, please email kelly.boche@st-paul.pvt.k12.ia.us.

MEDICATION IN OFFICE

Just a reminder that if you have any medication for your child in the office (epi pens, etc), they must be picked up by the last day of school. We cannot keep any medication over the summer. Thank you.

BEST DAY EVER – MAY 24, 2024

We need your help for the BEST DAY EVER (formerly The Day of Awesomeness)!

 Please sign up to help on the link below.  ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST HAVE COMPLETED SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING AND A BACKGROUND CHECK. Contact kelly.boche@st-paul.pvt.k12.ia.us if you need assistance. 

Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled shift. Your responsibility is to help with line management and safety of the students on the inflatable's. Please dress accordingly because you will be moving around. The Best Day Ever is held adjacent to the school at the Ivy nursing home open field. Please remember to bring a water bottle for yourself. ART SKETCHBOOKS FOR NEXT YEAR

The sketchbooks in Art were wonderful to use this year… Thank you for providing them. They will be coming home soon. Several students used very nice sketchbooks this year and they might be able to reuse them next year. 

If your sketchbook has more than 30 clean pages left, the front and back cover are in good condition and the spiral is still intact, your student can probably reuse the book for the 24-25 school year.

If you'd like to reuse the book next year, just carefully remove the used pages, and clearly mark the student's name and NEW homeroom to the front and bring it back next year. Of course, if you'd like to use the sketchbook for drawing over the summer and purchase a new one next year that's an option too. 

(If you get the school supply kit- sketchbooks are one year usage books.)

SEWING LESSONS

If you are looking for a fun activity for your child to do this summer, Kelsey Lorenzen, who substitute teaches almost every day at St. Paul's, is offering sewing lessons. Please see attached flyer for details.

24-25 AFTERCARE REGISTRATION

Registration for before/aftercare for next year is now open. We will need updates on each student's participation in the program. We will be pulling information based on school registration for Authorized pickups, Physician/Dentist and medical statements. Please use the google form to register. All students must be registered before the 1st day they attend. Aftercare is a drop-in program so even if you think there may be a day you will need the program please submit a registration, you will not get charged unless you use the program. There is a $25 (per family) registration fee after the program is used.

SUMMER USED UNIFORM SALE

Hello Parents! It is time to start thinking about the Used Uniform Sale.  Set up will be from 6 pm - 8 pm on Tuesday, July 16th. Anyone who helps on Tuesday, July 16th will get to shop while they set up and get first picks. The sale will be held on Wednesday, July 17th and Wednesday, July 24th from 8 am-11:30 am. Clean up will be held from 11:30 am-1 pm on Wednesday, July 24th. Volunteers needed!!!! Home and School volunteer hours available.

We need your used clothing. Items can also be dropped off to the school now-June 7th. Please text Erin 563-508-2808 if you need to arrange a different time for drop off. 

We will sell the following things at the sale: Uniform jumpers and skirts, navy and khaki pants and shorts, polos, SPS/AHS approved sweatshirts, 3/4 zips, sweaters, belts, gym uniforms, SPS and AHS spirit wear. If you want to sell your items please mark each item, on the front of a note card sized paper. Then attach it with a safety pin. Include the following information:

You may donate items, too. All proceeds from donations go to Home and School and directly help our students. Donations can simply be dropped off as is. We also need shoppers! Many items are like new and prices are reasonable.  Shopping the Used Uniform Sale directly impacts our children in the classroom!!!

EDUCATION SAVINGS ACCOUNT APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN

If you live in Iowa and you plan to have a child enrolled at any of the SCCS schools next year, we encourage you to apply for the ESA. All students entering Kindergarten AND first grade, students transferring to the SCCS system from a public school, and families whose income is less than 400% of poverty level will qualify for an ESA.

Applying for the first time: Parents/Guardians will first be directed to sign up for an account through Odyssey with an email and password. Then, parents/guardians will receive a message from Odyssey asking them to confirm their email address. After the email is confirmed, the parent/guardian can sign in to the Odyssey portal to begin their application.

Returning applicants: Parents/Guardians with an existing Odyssey portal account will log in to the existing account to begin the application for the 2024-25 school year.

Applications are REQUIRED to be completed ANNUALLY to verify student eligibility through confirmation of Iowa residency

Applications are available in English and Spanish and will be accepted until Sunday, June 30, at 11:59 pm.

BIRTHDAY BOOKS

May is the last month to participate in the Libraries Birthday Book program for this school year. May Birthday Books notices went home this week! If your child would like to participate in the program the last week will be May 22, 2024.  After May 22nd, we will be completing our end-of-the-year inventory in the library. SCUBA VBS REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN! 

We will be diving into a friendship with God June 24-28 from 8:30 am to 11:30 am daily. VBS is for kids who have finished 3-year-old Preschool through 4th grade, and registration is limited! Registration forms have been sent home in Wednesday folders and can also be found attached. It's going to be a great week of underwater adventures exploring God's love for us!
