Principal Post
February 5, 2025
Dear Parents,
We had a wonderful Catholic Schools Week celebration! I am extremely proud of our students. They had fun, supported each other, and received multiple compliments about their participation at the SCCS Mass at AHS.
Our Penny Wars unofficial total is $2,176.98 that will go to Rally for Reid Foundation for childhood cancer. Once it is counted at the bank, we will have the true amount. I’m sure with counting 66,555 pennies, there was an error, or the $1,511.43 in quarters, nickels, dimes, and bills. Thank you, students and families, for your generosity.
Science Fair
Congratulations to the winners of the Science Fair! Overall, the students worked very hard on their projects and gave wonderful presentations. Thank you as well to our volunteer judges.

· Victoria Gambucci – Glide by Butterfly
· Thalia Boyd – So-da-licious

Preschool and Kindergarten Round Ups – Next Week!
Please put the following dates on your calendar if you have children entering one of our preschool programs or Kindergarten.
February 11, 6:00 PM Denning Hall – Kindergarten Round Up Parent meeting (student assessments will be in May.)
February 14, 8:00 – 10:00 AM in the Preschool classrooms.
CEW – Christian Experience Weekend
It is not too late to sign up for the women’s CEW retreat this weekend. I highly recommend it for a variety of reasons. It helped me to deepen my relationship with Jesus, and it provided a way to get to know more women in the parish. It seems like a lot to give up a weekend, but you won’t regret it. Please give it a try! The men’s weekend follows in a few weeks!

Tax Letters
I have attached the letter from the school that can be used to claim tuition on your tax forms.
NOT NEW BUT IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Re-Enrollment/Registration for Grades 1-8 for the 2025-26 School Year
A separate email was sent out last week regarding the procedures for re-enrolling your child for next year. This is for students entering 1st through 8th grade for the 2025-2026 school year.
ESAs for the 2025-26 School Year
ALL Iowa students attending an accredited nonpublic school for the 2025-26 school year will qualify for an ESA (Educational Savings Account). Parents need to apply each year for their children to receive the ESA. More details will be sent out as it becomes available.
Financial Assistance for the 2025-26 School Year
We have financial assistance available for Illinois families and families who don’t belong to one of our supporting parishes (non-Catholic). We don’t want the cost of tuition to hinder any students from being able to attend St. Paul’s.
Home and School Membership and Volunteer Opportunities
Did you know every family is a member of St. Paul’s Home and School? As members, all families are invited to attend the monthly meetings on the 2nd Monday of the month at 6:00 PM in the Media Center. At meetings we plan events for the students and families like the upcoming skate night at the Eldridge skating rink on Tuesday, February 18 from 6-8PM. We invite you to come share your ideas and get involved! We are looking for some volunteers to take on a few small projects.
