Dear Parents,

We have a lot of Influenza A and B going around the school, as well as other illnesses. We have hit more than 10% of our students out twice this week and have had many faculty and staff out sick. We are so grateful from our substitute teachers and aids who have been helping us this week! To help stop the spread of germs, please remind your children to:

·      Wash or sanitize their hands frequently.

·      Cover their coughs and sneezes.

·      Stay home if you have a fever, vomiting or have Diarrhea. Students need to be free of those symptoms 24 hours before returning to school.

Covid Quarantine Changes

The Scott County Health Department has sent out updated guidelines for those with Covid. The new guidelines treat Covid like all other upper respiratory illnesses. The guidance is as follows:

The recommendation for those with respiratory symptoms is to be excluded until fever-free for 24 hours without the use of a fever reducing medication AND respiratory symptoms are mild and improving.

Students no longer need to quarantine for 5 days and upon returning to school no longer need to wear a mask.

Classroom Request Form

Requests for a particular teacher or separation from a particular student should be few. It is important to give clear, detailed reasons for this isolated request.

Requests granted for a particular homeroom will be limited to a maximum of 3 boys and 3 girls. The principal, guidance counselor, assistant principal and current classroom teachers will meet to decide which requests will be granted based on the most pressing student needs (academic and behavioral). Classroom Request forms must be turned into the school office by March 22, 2024, to be considered. Forms are available in the school office. Emails, personal conversations, and phone messages will not serve as a formal request and will not be considered. Late forms will not be accepted.

Kindergarten/Preschool Acceptance Letters

We had a great turnout for all our early childhood programs. Our goal is to get acceptance letters out to families the first week of March. We currently have a wait list in kindergarten and more families requesting 4YO morning preschool than we have slots. We’re working to get our lists figured out this week.

Students are accepted into programs or are given their program preference based on our priority system.

1.     Families who already have a child enrolled in our PreK-8 programs (in good standing).

         a.     Parishioners

         b.     Catholics belonging to a different parish

         c.     All others

2.     New students: from supporting parish(es) (in good standing)

3.     New students: non-parishioner Catholic (in good standing)

4.     New students: everybody else (in good standing)
