Join Us for Prayer After School During Lent!
Lent is a season of prayer, reflection, and drawing closer to God—and we have a special opportunity for you and your family to do just that!
· Each Friday during Lent, St. Paul the Apostle will have All-Day Eucharistic Adoration in the church. At 3:00 PM—the Hour of Mercy—the St. Paul Singers invite you to come straight from school and join us in praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet together in song.
· This is a beautiful and powerful family devotion, helping us all to reflect on Christ’s mercy and love during this sacred season.
· What: Divine Mercy Chaplet in Song
When: Fridays in Lent at 3:00 PM
Where: St. Paul the Apostle Church
Bring your family, take a moment to pause in prayer, and grow in faith together this Lent. We’d love to see you there!
Preschool and Kindergarten Round Ups – This Friday
Please put the following on your calendar if you have children entering one of our preschool programs.
· February 14, 8:00 – 10:00 AM in the Preschool classrooms.
· It is an open house so you can drop in at any time in that frame to drop off your paperwork, meet the teachers and visit the classrooms.
Home and School Volunteers
Our Home and School Association is always looking for volunteers. Join us at our next meeting on Monday, March 10, in the school Media Center, to learn how you can get involved.
Safety Subcommittee Update
A Safety Subcommittee of the School Advisory Committee has been meeting and is making progress in the goals set up by the School Advisory Committee. Following are the areas the committee has accomplished:
· A threat assessment decision tree was developed based on research of other school and district plans.
· The Aggressive/Bully Behavior grid was revised and sent out to parents. This is part of our tiered discipline system.
· Communication
o The Diocese is developing a communication plan for all schools in the Davenport Diocese when there is any type of emergency or credible threat, including who, when and what is communicated.
o Drills are being communicated to parents when they take place so parents can talk with their children about them.
· The Homeland Security Assessment was reviewed. The next phase of implementation is security film on main floor windows and glass doors.
· We are still waiting for the state of Iowa to provide the new template for Emergency Operations Plans.
NOT NEW BUT IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Re-Enrollment/Registration for Grades 1-8 for the 2025-26 School Year
A separate email was sent out last week regarding the procedures for re-enrolling your child for next year. This is for students entering 1st through 8th grade for the 2025-2026 school year. Please make sure you re-enroll your students for next year ASAP. We have classes with waiting lists, and we don’t want your child to lose their spot.
ESAs for the 2025-26 School Year
ALL Iowa students attending an accredited nonpublic school for the 2025-26 school year will qualify for an ESA (Educational Savings Account). Parents need to apply each year for their children to receive the ESA. More details will be sent out as it becomes available.
Financial Assistance for the 2025-26 School Year
We have financial assistance available for Illinois families and families who don’t belong to one of our supporting parishes (non-Catholic). We don’t want the cost of tuition to hinder any students from being able to attend St. Paul’s.
